XGIMI remote app: which models work
XGIMI projectors run one of three systems, and that decides how a phone can control them. Find your model below. If yours isn't here or the status is wrong, tell us.
China-market models (GMUI): RS 10 Ultra, RS Pro, H6, Z8X and others
Tested RS 10 Ultra 典藏版 (GMUI 6.6) Should work other GMUI models
These are the projectors Beamote was made for. Neither Google's remote nor the global XGIMI app can see them, and XGIMI's Chinese phone app isn't on Google Play. Beamote connects over Wi-Fi with no pairing code and also reads the projector's status (temperature, picture mode, firmware). Bluetooth power-on works on supported models.
Other GMUI models use the same network remote as far as we know, but we haven't had one in hand. If you try one, a quick email saying whether it worked helps everyone.
XGIMI Horizon, Horizon Pro, Horizon Ultra, Horizon S series
Beta Android TV / Google TV
Beamote connects with the standard Android TV remote protocol: tap Connect and type the 6-character code the projector shows. This is beta because we've tested it against reference devices, not yet on a Horizon itself.
Free alternative: Google's own remote works on these. On Android, open quick settings and add the "Google TV remote" tile, or use the Google TV app.
XGIMI Halo, Halo+
Beta Android TV
Same as Horizon: pair once with the on-screen code. Google's remote is a free alternative.
XGIMI MoGo, MoGo Pro, MoGo 2 Pro, MoGo 3 Pro
Beta Android TV / Google TV
Portable models often sleep to save battery, which takes them off Wi-Fi. Wake the projector first, then connect. Google's remote is a free alternative.
XGIMI Elfin, Elfin Flip
Beta Elfin (Android TV) Not yet Elfin Flip with XGIMI OS
The original Elfin runs Android TV and pairs like Horizon. Elfin Flip units with XGIMI OS don't expose a phone remote we can use yet. If you own one, sending a diagnostics report from the app helps us look into it.
XGIMI Aura, Aura 2
Beta Android TV
Pair once with the on-screen code. Google's remote is a free alternative.
Older global models: H1, H2, H3, Z6 Polar
Should work GMUI (global)
These older models run a global version of GMUI. As far as we know they use the same network remote as China-market units, but we haven't confirmed it on real hardware.
Still not sure?
Install Beamote and use the 7-day trial. If your projector shows up and responds, it works. If not, open Settings → "Send diagnostics" so we can see what your model reports. See also connection help and XGIMI remote not working.
